The Ceres Institute
Ceres staff have provided education and training in many different forms for over twenty years. Staff have taught university classes, developed certificate programs, and led participatory action research projects grounded in critical pedagogy.
The Institute offers seven month online programs and summer intensives that combine online coursework and coaching sessions with week-long in-person convenings. The Institute is based in Lisbon, Portugal.
Program Evaluation Certificate Program
Ceres has over twenty years of completing community research through program evaluations, community needs assessments, and funding portfolio impact assessments for funders. We have recently developed a certificate program that will increase participants’ research capacity while also providing rigorous reports that can be shared with community stakeholders, elected officials, and board members.
Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion Certificate Program
This certificate program has been developed in partnership with Voice and Vision, an organization with over 25 years of experience leading organizations through liberatory change. Participants will be guided through the theory, practice, and measurement of DEI work. Participants will leave the course with tangible management tools and a strategic plan for structurally decolonizing their current power structure.
LGBTQA+ Youth Data and Policy Certificate Program
For the past fifteen years, Ceres has trained over 30 probation departments, youth courts, and youth-serving organizations on how to best serve system-impacted LGBT youth. We are currently partnering with the Center for Juvenile Justice Reform at Georgetown University on a new certificate program.
